ICE – from The Federal Road Safety Commission

The Federal Road Safety Commission has just come out with the concept of “ICE”..Please read carefully, it may save your life or that of someone you know.

“We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn’t know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this ‘ICE’ (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.

The concept of ‘ICE’ is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As mobile phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name ‘ICE’ ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn’t know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialling the number you have stored as ‘ICE’.

Please forward this. It won’t take too many ‘forwards’ before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one’s mind at rest. For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. PASS THIS AROUND AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS THIS CAN HELP IN AN EMERGENCY”..From the Federal Road Safety Commission

G.E.Jonathan met with the Queen of England. He asked her, “Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there… any tips you can give to me? I want to help Nigeria” “Well,” said the Queen, “the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people.” Jonathan frowned, and then asked, “But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?” The Queen took a sip off her cup of tea. “Oh, that’s easy; you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle.” The Queen pushed a button on her intercom. “Please … send Tony Blair in here, would you?” Tony Blair walked into the room and said, “Yes, Your Majesty?” The Queen smiled and said, “Answer me this please. Tony, your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?” Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, “That would be me.” “Yes! Very good,” said the Queen. Jonathan went back home to ask N. Sambo, his vice presidential choice the same question. “Sambo, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. It’s not your brother and it’s not your sister. Who is it?” “I’m not sure,” said Sambo. “Let me get back to you on that one…” He went to his advisors and asked every one, but none could give him an answer. Finally, one night, he ran into Dora Akunyili. Sambo asked, “Dora, can you answer this for me? Your mother and father have a child and it’s not your brother or your sister. Who is it?” Dora answered sharply, “That’s easy, it’s me!” Sambo smiled, and said,”Thanks!” Then, he went back to speak with Jonathan. “Sir,I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It’s Dora Akunyili!” Jonathan got up angrily, frowning he said to Sambo. No wonder Nigeria isn’t moving forward, I don’t have intelligent people around me. !You Dummy! The answer is Tony Blair! Good afternoon

—Hey! Not my personal opinion o…It made a good laugh so I thought to share it. Cheers!—

Bulletproof Deacon At Christ Embassy

31-Oct-2012 07:53
The Acts of Dcn Yomi Oluremekun
I want to title my testimony as “Our true divinity in Christ

On 30th of September 2012 I was leaving my office on Lagos Island.
Just as I was about entering my car, parked right in front of the office, a car pulled over and blocked my car and immediately four guys came down with gun pointing at me and demanding for my car key. When I saw the gun pointed at me, the scripture that immediately came alive in my spirit was “no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper”
While I was searching my pocket for the key, the guy pointing the gun directly to my belly said I’m wasting their time and he pulled the trigger (however I believed they were intimidated by my calmness). The bullet pierced through the T-shirt and the inner vest I was wearing and the bullet just got stock right on my belly without penetrating further.

Immediately I heard the gun shot my response was spontaneous as I screamed out “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”.
At that point I do not have enough sense to respond in shock or fear, there was such an awesome peace, boldness & confidence
around me even while bleeding that the robbers had to took off immediately, not believing that I could still be standing having been shot at such a close range. I walk right back into the office
building and all the security guys were surprise that am still standing.
All through until I was taken to the hospital I kept the word of God on my lips & reminded myself of who I am in Christ &am; that I can not die young or suddenly. Knowing fully well that I still have alot ti do in sponsoring & financing the gospel as an Haven member.

All the scan result showed that I do not have any internal injury or bleeding & the bullet pallets were later removed & I am perfectly ok.

I thank God for our man of God (Pst Chris Oyakhilome) for teaching me the word of God.
When one consistently listen to the teaching of God’s word, obviously you are been seeded and loaded for life, you cease to be an ordinary person, you are now absolutely divine, as prooved by this testimony.

The car that is of the world has gone with the robbers, but I am not of the world, for whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world & no weapon fashioned against us is powerful enough to prosper.
Here I am today sharing this testimony to the shame & regret of the devil. Like the Bible refers to John as “John the divine” am now also “Dcn Yomi the divine”, some people heard about the testimony and has since nick-named me as “bulletproof deacon” praise be His name forever.

Of a truth like Pastor Chris would always reminds us that the book of “Acts” in the Bible is still been written in our days, this testimony is one of such account for the book of “Acts” today.

Today I am much more convinced than ever before that divinity is absolutely at work in us. I am indeed a walking miracle!

There’s Room At The Top!

€MTN came to Nigeria at a time when nobody wanted

to invest in Nigeria, at a time when Nigerians did not
have phones. Even Zenith Bank refused to loan MTN
cash to operate, UBA rejected MTN’s offer but today
see the difference. At least we all know the story of
the only civilian unelected President in Nigeria – Goodluck Jonathan. We know how the people said he
was not going to be President; they even made him
acting-Presiden t. Today the rest is history. What
about Cowbell? When they came to Nigeria, they
made milk in a sachet, Peak was laughing at them-
they said Cowbell was milk for the poor- but they were right! 3-million poor people could afford N10 a day for
a sachet of milk. Oya, do the maths – 3million people
buying milk at N10.00- that was N30million every
single day. In a month they grossed N900million
(almost N1billion). Even Peak had to make sachet
milk in order to survive in the market. So what have people told you? What have they said you cannot do,
or you do not qualify for, or you do not have
experience for? They told Cowbell, they told
Goodluck, they told MTN, but today the story has
changed. I have a feeling dat something is changing
for you today! They will change their strategies just to keep in step with you. Don’t listen to what people are
saying or what life is showing you… YES, YOU CAN!
Do have a Positive Day… Success is not about where
you graduated from, but what graduates out of you.
Keep the spirit. There is a giant in you, sleeping
because you have not woken him up. Don’t be discouraged by your qualification, family background,
environment or even our non- performing govt, help
yourself. Stand-up and be beyond what you want 2
be! Do have a Fulfild 2nd phase of the year. Meet me
@ d top can wait †☺ see u thέrέ.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight (Numbers 13:33).

To win in life, you must always respond in faith to the Word; you must learn to function in the arena of faith, where the only thing that counts is what God has said.

You may be facing difficulties in your finances; but as a child of God, what do you see? Do you see yourself suffering under the economic crisis as the rest of the world or the truth that says “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up…” (Job 22:29).

Caleb and Joshua did not deny the fact that there were giants in the land God promised to the children of Israel, but they were only moved by what God had said. Their response when asked to describe the land was based on faith in the Word of God. While theirs was a leap on the Word, the other ten spies gave a faithless response—an evil report.

Never allow what your physical senses perceive; what you see, hear and feel determine the circumstances of your existence. The Bible says, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Let your gaze be on God’s eternal and infallible Word and maintain the faith-response all the time.

Confession

I continually fix my gaze on the Word of God. My thoughts, words and actions are inspired by faith in God’s eternal Word and the leading of His Spirit. I am not moved by what I see, feel or hear, but I respond only in faith to the Word of God. Hallelujah

Mobile tweets are breaking Olympics’ TV data – how did carriers prepare?

Originally posted on Gigaom:

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Twitter have worked closely in recent weeks to promote the microblog service as a means to engage with athletes, competitions and London 2012. But mobile social media users are proving so voluminous  at some Olympic venues that they are now interfering with mobile networks on which the games themselves depend, the IOC says.

During Olympic cycling road races this weekend, television broadcasters say they were let down by a lack of official timing data supplied by the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS). One BBC commentator relied on his own stopwatch.

IOC communications director said (via Guardian.co.uk): “From my understanding, one network was oversubscribed, and OBS are trying to spread the load to other providers.”

Adams did not name the underperforming network. And his plea to tweeters, in the circumstances, goes against the social media project the IOC had tried to create: “We…
